College of Engineering and Computing - Office of the DeanPost-Award Research AdministratorThe George Mason University Office of the Dean, within the College of Engineering and Computing (CEC), invites applications for multiple Post-Award Research Administrator positions. We are adding multiple post-award research administrator positions at the college level as part of a university effort to enhance the research administration infrastructure across the campus. The College of Engineering and Computing has experienced rapid growth in its research portfolio over the past five years with expenditures totaling over $70M in 2022, as well as 440 proposal submissions and 237 awards received in 2022. About the Position:The Post-Award Research Administrator is responsible for managing post-award activities in support of an assigned portfolio of grants and contracts within one or more departments or centers within the College of Engineering and Computing using knowledge of grant and contract management rules and regulations, technical expertise, and analytical skills.Responsibilities:The primary responsibilities of this position are to work with CEC faculty in the post-award administration of their grants and contracts which includes: Interact regularly and provide high quality customer service to faculty members conducting sponsored research, and ensure adherence to quality standards and all policies and award regulations;Regular review, reconciliation and projection of award finances; Prepare adjustments and corrections to award accounts and budgets; Prepare financial reports; Hire faculty and student personnel on research grants and contracts;Verify that the effort is correct and allowable within sponsor and University guidelines; and At the end of the award, ensure all financial requirements have been met for close out of the award. Required Qualifications:Experience in post-award administration of research grants and contracts or similar financial field (typically 2+ years);Experience with Microsoft Office Suite;Ability to work with a diverse population;Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment; Demonstrated attention to detail; andDemonstrated written and oral communication skills.Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in a business or financial field; Experience in higher education institutions; andCertified Research Administrator. These positions are telework friendly with ability to work remotely 2-3 days per week.
