Assistant Director of Annual Giving, Engagement CenterThe George Mason University Office of Advancement and Alumni Relations, invites qualified candidates to apply for a full-time position as Assistant Director of Annual Giving, Engagement Center. The division is a comprehensive development and alumni relations enterprise with a staff complement of approximately 135 full-time employees. Functional units within Advancement and Alumni Relations include development/fundraising, alumni relations, donor relations and stewardship, advancement communications, special events, gift processing, research, prospect management, gift planning, corporate and foundation relations, information systems and management, and infrastructure services.The Office of Annual Giving generates annual financial support for academic programs, student scholarships, and special campus initiatives. Funds are raised through telephone, direct mail, online, and micro-campaigns. This position works in a call center with moderate noise levels.The Assistant Director will be responsible for overseeing the Engagement Center including hiring and managing student callers, developing caller schedules, writing scripts for callers, and analyzing historical data and current year statistics to include suggestions, recommendations, and solutions to running a more efficient Engagement Center. The Assistant Director will also have oversight of fundraising efforts for the Student Philanthropy program, assist with the Mason Vision Day and Season of Giving campaigns, and adhere to the Annual Giving strategy, visits, asks, and dollars raised metrics.Required Qualifications:Entrepreneurial skills and ability to take ownership of Engagement Center, utilizing innovation and creativity to advance and improve productivity, participate in discussions, and develop/recommend creative solutions;Excellent written communication, and research and organizational skills;Proficient in the use of computers and related software, such as Microsoft Office and Adobe products;Ability to work effectively with others both in the department and to external colleagues; ability to work in an autonomous capacity, as well as part of a collaborative team environment;Ability to learn new software quickly;Ability to provide effective follow-up and follow-through regarding individual and team performance;Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure;Demonstrated experience working directly in call centers, marketing, annual giving programs, university advancement, development, or alumni relations;Experience in tracking and analyzing statistical information; andExperience with database management and MS Excel experience.Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience;Supervisory or leadership experience working directly in a higher education fundraising focused Engagement Center;Experience working in an annual giving program;Frontline fundraising experience;Skill in effective team management;Knowledge of PhoneIQ software or similar software; andKnowledge of Affinaquest or similar software.
