Office of Graduate StudiesGraduate Communications CoordinatorThe George Mason University Office of Graduate Studies, within the College of Engineering and Computing (CEC), seeks a motivated, proactive, organized, and self-reliant Graduate Communications Coordinator. About the Position:The Graduate Communications Coordinator will plan, organize, and implement graduate admissions communication and outreach services for the College of Engineering and Computing (CEC), performing duties across all graduate communication efforts. This position provides marketing and communications support by managing and developing various communication plans, event campaigns, and content across platforms managed by CEC's Office of Graduate Studies (CECGS), including webpages, web-based recruitment efforts, report building and student inquiry data management.Reporting to the Director of Graduate Admissions and Recruitment the Coordinator supports CECGS with recruitment and retention efforts and may have responsibility for training and supervising student/non-student wage employees to assist with communication-related projects, as needed. Responsibilities:Content ManagementDevelop and update the CEC Graduate Studies webpage content;Work strategically with CEC's Communications team to ensure delivery of content; announcements, and social media promotions to an expanded audience; and Manage and promote recruitment events on various platforms.Communications and OutreachDevelop and manage the CEC graduate admissions communication plan;Create and enhance personalized email templates to inform prospective students of graduate education opportunities and programs;Coordinate with CEC stakeholders to produce successful results for the communication plan;Create and maintain a comprehensive communication plan calendar for the office;Track campaign statistics and broadcasts through the university CRM;Oversee and manage student inquiry data loads, dashboards, and report creation;Identify needs and strategize enhancements to the communication plan; andResearch and remain current on communications and marketing strategies to optimize graduate recruitment efforts.Campaign Operations and Recruitment SupportBuild and execute email campaigns for the purpose of inviting and attracting prospective students to graduate events;Manage and optimize recruitment materials, both print and digital, to ensure they are current and accurate; andSupport various recruitment efforts and projects.Other duties as assigned.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in communications, business administration, public relations, or related field and/or combination of equivalent education and work experience in communications, marketing, student recruitment or business administration and/or working in a higher education;Excellent communication skills;Effective organizational, planning, and time management skills with strong attention to detail;Proactive and critical thinker;Goal driven, self-starter;Experience working effectively both independently and collaboratively in a team;Ability to be decisive, take initiative and complete projects and/or assignments with minimal supervision;Excellent computer literacy; andWillingness to work occasional evenings and weekend hours.Preferred Qualifications:Experience working in higher education administration with a focus in marketing and/or communications;Working experience with a CRM, preferably Salesforce; andAbility to work with and analyze data and build reports.*Please note that this is not a 100% remote/virtual position, but it is telework friendly.
