Adjunct Faculty, English (Composition)The George Mason University English Department invites applications for English Adjunct Faculty for various part-time vacancies. The department particularly needs faculty who can teach first-year composition, including composition for multilingual students and international pathways students, and our 300-level advanced composition courses in various modes, including face to face and online. If you have general questions, please contact Stacey Remick-Simkins, Search Administrator at sremicks@gmu.edu.Required Qualifications:M.A. in English (literature or rhetoric and composition) or MFA in creative writing in-hand; andExperience teaching college composition.Preferred Qualifications:PhD in rhetoric and composition;Training and experience in online writing instruction (OWI) at the college level;Experience working with multilingual students; andExperience working with international pathways students.NOTE: Candidates must be able to attend professional development workshops held in mid-August at the Fairfax campus in Virginia. Pay per course ranges from $3060-4467 commensurate with degree, experience teaching composition, and level of class taught, and adjunct faculty can teach up to three sections per semester based on course availability and instructor preferences.
