Summary

The Mission Training Center (MTC) Instructor (MTCI) provides training to the E-3 AWACS community in order to meet the fleet requirements and training objectives specific to the platform. MTCI 's help develop mission ready aircrews efficiently working as capable partners with their Air Force counterparts, is required to maximize operational effectiveness and combat capability while preserving PACAF's limited personnel, aircraft and resources.

Responsibilities
  • Provide instruction in accordance with E-3 syllabi.
  • Provide MTC console operation simultaneously while instructing student personnel.
  • Develop scenarios to meet wing/local training objectives.
  • Develop, maintain, and present academic aircrew training specific to current tactics, location/weapons system, and as required by wing/local guidance.
  • Facilitate Distributed Mission Operations (DMO) and conduct all necessary pre-mission planning for DMO missions.
  • Set up and attend video teleconference (VTC) briefs/debriefs (if required) in addition to manning the MTCs.
  • Manage all academic related Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) used for Computer Based Training (CBT).
  • Maintain current reference material on Electronic Flight Bags (EFBs) and paper publications.
  • Document academic and MTC training accomplishments in the Government-provided AF Form 1522 at the completion of the event.
  • Attend Training Review Board & Stan/Eval Board meetings at the request of the flying squadrons.
  • Prepare and submit plans, reports, letters, schedules, and summaries as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • 1,000 hours of E-3 experience as an Air Battle Manager (career field 13B) / Airborne Battle Management (career field 1A4/D) / 200 hours as an instructor and previously qualified in the position hired to instruct.
  • Current (i.e. operational flight experience) within 8 years, unless currently performing similar aircrew instruction duties.
  • Pass an annual MTC Console Certification.
  • Holds a DoD Secret clearance.
  • Eligible for a Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.
  • Eligible for a Top Secret/SCI clearance.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Capable of maintaining an E-3 Mission Evaluation IAW AFMAN 11-2MDS, Vol. 2 (AF Form 8).
  • Able to read, write, speak, and understand English; have basic Microsoft Office skills.
  • Must have technical subject matter expertise in E-3 AWACS weapon system.
  • Maintain ground training currency and be physically qualified to perform MTCI duties.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed to support the mission.
  • Able to perform AF Form 8 Certified Instructor duties in the MTC.
  • Ability to provide documentation about the MTCI program as well as provide program updates, debriefs, significant activities reports, standard operating procedure updates/modifications, and other documents as needed.
  • Ability to multi-task in a high-stress, complex performance-based environment.
  • Ability to establish priorities and meet established deadlines.
  • Ability to self-start and work independently or as a team.
  • With the ability to manipulate the controls of the MTC console in a complex training environment.
