Senior Paralegal
Provides a wide array of support and performs a variety of in-house corporate legal responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. Duties will include working with the Corporate Legal Group and will encompass many aspects of Dewberry's in-house legal practice, including but not limited to claims management, legal expense management, E-Discovery, corporate governance and compliance, risk management, state and professional registrations, intellectual property, political contributions, employment, mergers and acquisitions, and a variety of other services provided by the Corporate Legal Group.

*This person in this position is required to be onsite in our headquarters in Fairfax, Virginia Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with overtime required as needed. Relocation will not be provided.

Responsibilities
- Works under the direction of the General Counsel
- Claims, potential claims, and collections support including contract and project information gathering, case status tracking, case budget tracking, performing E-Discovery searches, implementing and maintaining legal holds, and managing document production.
- Identify existing systems and processes, identify potential risk and offer solutions, and create new processes/systems (as needed).
- Responsible for maintaining business entity annual reports and coordinating with outside vendors.
- Corporate governance support including state and professional registration maintenance, records retention and maintenance, drafting corporate resolutions and written consents, business entity formation.
- Responsible for maintaining accurate intranet legal presence and data.
- Storing, tracking, and accessing data and information for compliance.
- Mastering legal group technology and software.
- Intellectual property support.
- International services research Performs legal research as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Required Experience
- 7 years legal office experience preferred.
- Paralegal certificate is required.
- Must be proficient with MS Office programs.
- Must be proficient using Westlaw and the internet for research.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Critical, forward thinking and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and high level of accuracy in all work.
- Manage multiple tasks with changing priorities to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
- Must have self-management skills and knowledge to carry out objectives.
- Must be a self-starter and able to work independently
- Customer services skills are required to deliver high quality services quickly and efficiently.
- Strong organizational skills to handle large volumes of information so that it can be retrieved and accessed in a timely manner.
- Must have a strong sense of professionalism to maintain working relationships with all levels of the organization.
