Summary
The MIL Corporation is looking for Engineering Technicians (Junior and Journeyman Levels) to support in-house integration and CONUS and OCONUS customer-site installation of various communication systems (e.g., A/V teleconferencing solutions), Inside Plant (ISP) structured cabling, and Outside Plant (OSP) telecommunications cabling and related cabling infrastructure. This position is based in Lexington Park, MD and supports multiple government customers and offers experience with a wide range of technologies.
Responsibilities
Travel
Approximately 50% to 75% of the time, to CONUS and OCONUS sites as required.

Compensation
The SCA (Service Contract Act) role at The MIL Corporation is subject to the regulations and guidelines set forth by the U.S. Department of Labor. As an SCA position, it is classified as a service contract and is subject to specific wage determinations and benefit requirements mandated by the government.
The compensation and benefits for the SCA role at The MIL Corporation will be in accordance with the prevailing wage rates and benefits specified by the Department of Labor for the specific job classification and location.
The current rates are:
Engineering Technician I $22.92 per hour
Engineering Technician II $25.72 per hour
Engineering Technician III $28.79 per hour
Candidates' level will be determined based on experience and qualifications.

Summary

Responsibilities
- Integrate specialized communications equipment from rack/stack and power wiring through routing of copper and fiber data channels.
- Support testing of components, equipment, and in-house test and validation of integration solutions and related components such as high-definition monitors, microphones, speakers, antennae, touch panels, and other control modules.
- Support installation of communications systems, cabling infrastructure, network cabling, and related equipment such as equipment racks, cable pathways, and associated solution components.
- Assist with site surveys.
- Work within ISP/OSP and communication system installation crews to perform infrastructure installation, demolition, and updating.
- Assist with pre-installation marshalling and testing of materials.
- Maintain responsibility for quality of efforts and safety of personnel.
- Provide redlines to support creation of as-built drawings and documentation.
Travel

Required Qualifications
- Experience performing integration, testing, and installation of communications equipment or similar experience in closely related technology areas.
- Ability to interpret engineering packages for integration, testing, and installation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English), and organization skills.
- Ability to follow directions and interface professionally with individuals at all levels and communicate effectively with project staff and other team members.
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to perform necessary activities required for integration, testing, and installation of communications systems.
- Must be able to lift items up to National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) limits.
- Must be able to stand, kneel and/or crouch for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to climb ladders and scaffolding.
- Must be able to work in high places, as well as small, cramped, or confined spaces.
- Must be able to work in hot humid places, as well as cold places.
- Must maintain a valid driver's license.
Desired Qualifications
- Existing Secret, Top Secret, TS/SCI, or TS/SCI with Yankee White.
- Wood working/carpentry skills for AV Facilities Modifications.
- Demonstrable understanding of TIA/EIA, BICSI, IEEE, or related standards as they apply to the installation of OSI Layer 1 infrastructure.
- Experience performing integration, testing, and installation of communications equipment.
- Experience working OSP and/or ISP cabling and cabling infrastructure.
- Familiar with and ability to apply the National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Experience with testing fiber and/or copper.
- Experience working in data centers and server farms.
- Current BICSI Installer Certification and continued certification/training.
- Current BICSI Technician and continued certification/training.
- IPC 610, 620, or JSTD Certification(s)
- OSHA 10-Hour or 30-Hour Construction Safety certification
- Fiber and copper certifications.
- Confined space certification.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Visio, or other related software.
- Associates degree in a related technical area.
Education
