Data & Analytics leverages business intelligence gained through advanced data analytics in order to maximize AARP's marketing and communications results. This includes using data science, data engineering, predictive modeling, and market analytics to guide data driven decision making.
Responsibilities
- Develop data-driven analytics and strategies aimed at maximizing the effectiveness of member acquisition, retention and communications programs. Drive innovative approaches to using data and technology in support of AARPs mission, and help set the vision, direction and provide thought leadership for state-of-the-art statistical and econometric models, algorithms and logic to improve the effectiveness of programs and the execution of business plans.
- Build predictive models which include response, approval, profitability and value, cross sell, member satisfaction, and retention, as well as playing a primary role in providing thought leadership in the selection and use of analytical tools and techniques at AARP. Build highly accurate models, based on first and third party data, estimating the likelihood a person belong to a diverse/multicultural group.
- Responsible for the overall quality and consistency of analytic results, and for defining and implementing a process to ensure that these results continue to meet the needs of AARP and business partners.
- Develop advanced analytics functions to form a roadmap that will allow the group to serve the growing needs of its partners. This requires the employee to design and develop methodologies that enhance the AARP member experience.
- Perform statistical analysis and develop data-driven strategies to generate new and innovative business solutions. The employee is required to develop a model with the aid of natural language processing in order to categorize AARPs.org website (www.aarp.org), which has over 20,000 webpages, into categories that are machine generated (after analyzing all the content present on the website.
- Use natural language processing techniques to categorize questions asked during teletown halls and webinars and develop weekly reports (including word clouds) to inform decisions on future teletown hall and webinar topics.
- Provide recommendations and insights based on data analysis to internal stakeholders and communicate analytical results to non-technical audiences. Provide leadership and oversee improvements to data-driven decision platforms, capabilities and tools; and identify new trends and procedures that could be introduced into the existing toolkit. Implement best practices for code repositories, maintenance, and implementation in Databricks Spark environments. In executing duties, utilize programming languages (including Python, Pyspark, and SQL) and coding platforms (including Databricks).
- Conduct model building, utilizing Databricks.
- Telecommuting may be permitted.
Qualifications
- Requirements: Master's degree or the foreign equivalent in Statistics, Analytics, Data Science, or closely related quantitative field, and 2 years of experience in the job offered or related role.
- Alternatively, will accept a Bachelor's degree or the foreign equivalent in Statistics, Analytics, Data Science, or closely related quantitative field, and 5 years of experience in the job offered or related role.
