Position Description
The Institute currently seeks a Research Analyst to join our Economic Research department. S/he will develop datasets combining traditional macro data with innovative sources by extracting data from websites and some coding (R, Python, Java). Conduct macroeconomic data analysis, contribute on reports and cross-emerging market issues, and assist with special projects. S/he will also maintain country databases, ensure database consistency, address member's data needs, assist with the planning and implementation of events as well as prepare and contribute to drafts for special studies and presentations. Partner with other department staff to help coordinate working group programs and events including meetings as well as attend these functions and draft discussion summaries as needed.
Requirements
Applicants should have a college degree and at least two years of related work experience. Experience maybe substituted with a combination of graduate degree and at least one-year professional experience or internships. Candidates must exhibit strong command of the English language, and excellent written and oral communication skills are required. Proficiency with MS Excel, including functions, formulas and VBA is required. Knowledge of object-oriented programming languages (e.g. C, Python, R). Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment. Good organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a very fast paced deadline driven environment. Ability to interact with all levels of staff in responding to a wide range of inquiries.
