Dewberry is looking to hire a Training Event Specialist to provide customer service, support, and coordination in the scheduling and delivery of in-person, live virtual, and online training events delivered to employees enterprise-wide by the Training and Development Team.

This position must be able to work in the office at least 3 days a week and is preferred to work out of our Fairfax, VA office.

This role supports our team of training program managers and interacts with training participants, managers, facilitators, vendors, and other stakeholders before, during, and after training events. As the frontline point of contact for stakeholders seeking help from the Training and Development team and our training partners, this position requires exceptional customer service skills, a commitment to responsiveness, and a desire to support the team's mission to advance the careers and skills of Dewberry employees. Our primary training programs focus on corporate compliance, employee safety, project management, client management, leadership development, and other professional development topics.

The ideal candidate will have some meeting/event planning experience. Training experience not required. Great opportunity to gain experience with a variety of tasks with huge opportunity to grow the role.

Responsibilities

  • Customer Service: Serves as the frontline customer service contact for the training and development team, fields employee inquiries and connect employees and their managers to training resources. Helps employees locate and enroll in courses. Communicates politely and thoroughly both verbally and in writing, anticipating further questions and educating employees for future requests.
  • Online Training Administration: Responsible for managing employee access and enrollment into courses housed on the learning management system (LMS), maintaining integrity of LMS setup, testing and uploading online training courses to the platform, and meeting required timeframes. Troubleshoots technical issues with the LMS and collaborates with IT to resolve issues as needed.
  • In-person Training Event Management: Manages logistics coordination and execution of in-person delivered by the training and development team before, during, and after events. Manages communications with facilitators and other stakeholders, preparation and distribution of course materials, participant registration and communications, classroom setup, audiovisual needs, food and beverage catering services, and vendor invoices. Provides onsite event support to ensure seamless delivery.
  • Live Virtual Training Event Management: Manages internal stakeholders, facilitator communications, preparation and distribution of course materials, and participant registration and communications and serves as event host/technical expert.
  • Vendor Payments and Tracking: Processes, tracks, and files payments for training-related vendor invoices and related documents using proper accounting department systems and procedures. Tracks expenses against budget.
  • Metrics Reporting: Issues and compiles course evaluations and generates reports on regular basis to provide data on course enrollments and completions, evaluations, and other metrics to measure impact of training offerings and determine areas for improvement.
  • Recordkeeping: Manages event close-out procedures and maintains documentation, archives, and relevant information for future use and reference. Maintains training calendar. Documents processes and continually strives to improve training processes for increased efficiency.


Required Skills & Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Comfortable interacting with executives and other senior-level individuals
  • Ability to work independently when necessary

  • Excellent organizational and follow-up skills
