Adventist HealthCare seeks to hire an experienced Director of Human Resources of Howard University Faculty Practice Plan who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing.
Since 2020, Adventist HealthCare has partnered with Howard University Hospital under the Management Services Agreement with a primary goal of enhancing critically strategic operations, financial alignment between Howard University Hospital entities and carrying out the Howard University Hospital mission of education, research and clinical care.
The Howard University Faculty Practice Plan (HUFPP) is the multi-specialty faculty physician practice that is affiliated with Howard University Hospital and Howard University College of Medicine. Under the MSA Adventist HealthCare and the Howard University College of Medicine have partnered to further the success and mission of HUFPP.
As a Director of Human Resources of Howard University Faculty Practice Plan (HUFPP) you will:
• Build and sustain strong business relationships with leadership in Adventist HealthCare and Howard University; involve them in defining deliverables
• Actively identify gaps and propose and implement changes to cover risks
• Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with HR Shared Services to develop solutions, programs and policies
• Collaborate and otherwise remain involved with Shared Services as it relates to the entity being supported to ensure awareness of issues and resolution, and to maintain knowledge of day-to-day issues critical to the entity' success
• Manages complex and difficult HR projects cross-functionally
• Maintain solid knowledge of applicable employment laws, regulations, and business practices related to healthcare Human Resources; as well as remain current on all state and federal labor laws
• Oversee and champion entity participation in various system initiatives (engagement survey, ePDP, Learning Suite, PWP, etc.); ensuring employee awareness, understanding and successful completion
Qualifications include:
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field
• Master's degree strongly preferred
• Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible HR management experience
• Business partnership and financial acumen (able to translate the impact of HR solutions to measurable business results)
• In-depth knowledge of policies, labor laws and clinical regulatory requirements
• Experience in managing complex employee relations issues
• Strong leadership, communication and negotiation skills
• Must possess project and change management skills, specifically the ability to build organizational capability and effectiveness through HR solutions
• Must be able to work in a complex, multi-faceted health system environment
• Strong time management and priorities management skills
• Superior PC skills in a Windows environment (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and email programs.
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday 8AM TO 5PM
