Summer Youth Employment Aide
SUMMER YOUTH WORK EXPERIENCE: June 26, 2023 - August 4, 2023
The Summer Youth Work Experience provides City of Alexandria youth between the ages of 14 and 21 with a 6-week paid opportunity to work and learn during the summer. Over 170 positions will be available pending budget approval. Entry-level assignments are located at a variety of work sites including City of Alexandria government offices, hospital/clinics, summer camps, nonprofit agencies and private sector businesses.
Youth are paid $12.00 an hour and work 20 hours per week (Monday-Friday) under the general supervision of Work Site Mentor the Youth Employment Aide is responsible for performing the routine Career Center support functions.

After initial selection, the next steps include a program compatibility interview and submission of documentation verifying program eligibility, such as proof of Age, Social Security Number, Citizenship/Alien Status, current City address, family income and a completed TeensWork! application.

- Legally eligible to work in the U.S.
- Meet family income guidelines or individuals with a disability (IEP/504Plan, etc.)
- Ability to participate for the entire period ( June 26t h through August 4th )
