Summary
The MIL Corporation is seeking an Information System Security Engineer - ISSE (Info. Systems & Cyber Security, Jr. Analyst) to support our federal government client on-site at their Patuxent River, MD location.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance on physical, application, and networking security policies, procedures and practices.
- Develop SOP's that align with DoD/DON policies.
- Develop and document IA test plans and procedures.
- Provide technical direction in addressing validation and verification test results in support of operating approvals.
- Update DIACAP/RMF artifacts and track status of changes.
- Review and evaluate programs self-assessments.
- Support and conduct IV&V testing.
- Populate test results in tracking systems.
- Provide project support with participation in working groups as appropriate, providing task status updates via monthly progress reports and weekly Summary and Statistical Reports.
Required Qualifications
- 3 years of relevant experience
- Hands-on experience in:
- Applicable Computer Network Defense (CND) policies, regulations, and compliance documentation,
- Security Control and Control Correlation Identifiers (CCIs)/Assessment Procedures (APs) implementation,
- Self-assessment of administrative controls and CCIs/APs
- Analyzing ACAS and Security Compliance Assessment Protocol (SCAP) vulnerability scan results,
- Knowledge of security plan management and validation,
- Development of Security Assessment Plan (SAP) and Risk Assessment Report (RAR),
- Conducting manual checklists on applicable Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs),
- Mitigating/eliminating vulnerabilities findings, and
- Developing and supporting Plan of Actions and Milestones (POA&M) items for outstanding findings, including drafting of mitigation and impact statements.
- Solid working knowledge of system engineering and system architecture principles and recent application of Cyber knowledge in practice.
- Knowledge of information systems, LAN/WAN network architecture, network topology and protocols.
- Security+ certification
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Problem-solving ability
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
