Duties
The Joint Duty Officer (JDO) will be responsible for directing, implementing, coordinating, and overseeing activities for the Engagement and Information Exchange Section (EIES), Current Operations Division (COD), within OSA.
The JDO will play a critical role in assisting OSA mission "To provide situational awareness, a common operating picture, and decision support for the Homeland Security Enterprise on threats, hazards, and events impacting the homeland."
Specific JDO duties and responsibilities for this assignment include, but are not limited to:
*Directing, implementing, coordinating, and overseeing the activities of the EIES.
*Work to develop, improve, implement and manage the OSA Engagement and Outreach Plan in accordance with the OSA Strategic Plan.
*Develop and coordinate literature, briefings and promotional material to inform internal and external stakeholders and ensure it is effectively delivered and used to targeted audiences.
*Promote OSA activities utilizing all appropriate and available communications channels and platforms to assist with sharing key messages periodically to maintain good, clean and open lines of communication.
*Coordinate relevant talking points for and with OSA leadership and OSA division leadership to utilize across the spectrum of outreach
*Assist in planning and executing OSA Engagement travel, trip preparation, presentation of OSA Road Show and coordinating follow-up actions.
*Manage Engagement and Outreach calendar, contact sheets, and dedicated Liaison Officers
*Supports the COD Acting Director and Acting Deputy Director in the execution of Division responsibilities.
*Perform other duties as assigned or directed.

Qualifications
Qualifications required:Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong program development, project management and critical thinking skills. Solid interpersonal skills and a forward leaning desire to engage with others. Ability to manage numerous deadlines and deliverables. Detail oriented, plan of action and milestone focused. Experience working with non-federal partners, to include state/local law enforcement and the private sector. Working knowledge of MS Office. Ability to research, analyze, and present results of analysis to Senior Leadership in both unclassified and classified venues. Ability to complete range of project management and mid-level staff officer assignments. Ability to work closely and routinely communicate within the Division as well as with other Division managers and staffs and other DHS Agencies and Offices.

- Must be a current permanent Federal employee
- Must have supervisory approval to apply to the Joint Duty Assignment. DHS 250-2 Application Form under "required documents" section.
- Must NOT have any pending/outstanding disciplinary actions
- Must have achieved a minimum of "meet expectations/proficiency" on latest performance appraisal/evaluation
- Must be currently at the grade level of the detail. *No Temporary Promotion Opportunity*
- The program does not apply to members of the Military service or contractors.
