Duties

  • As the G2/Senior Intelligence Officer (SIO), supervises the command?s Directorate of Contingency Operations, Intelligence and Security functions.
  • Directs, manage, and provide oversight of intelligence and all security programs to include special access programs within the Command.
  • Develops and coordinates all Command intelligence and security policies and guidance.
  • Conduct final review of all the Command intelligence and security program procedural guides and policies.
  • Serves as the Career Program Manager for Career Program (CP) 35, Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) for the Command, responsible for the administration and implementation of the Command intelligence and security programs.
  • Directly and indirectly supervises civilian and military personnel assigned intelligence and security responsibilities.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
  • Position requires Temporary Duty (TDY) travel of up to 10% of normal duties.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.

Specialized Experience: One year of progressively responsible experience equivalent to the GG/GS-14 grade level in the Federal service which includes management and oversight of the intelligence and multi-discipline security programs that includes but not limited to: Information, Industrial and Personnel Security, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), Communications Security (COMSEC), Technical Security, Technical Surveillance Counter-measures (TSCM), TEMPEST, Research and Technology Protection, Intelligence and Security Support to Force Protection, Security Education, Awareness, and Training (SETA), Special Access Programs (SAPs), and Threat Awareness and Reporting Program (TARP).

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GG/GS-14).

Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data.
