Job Description
The Creative Director is a senior leadership role for the Creative team with Creative Lead direct reports focusing on pre-sales branded content ideation and post-sales execution. The CD will report to the Head of Creative. The CD will be joining a group of brand storytellers across various blue-chip client sectors. Our work is award-winning and dynamic, merging cutting-edge creative formats and human-driven narratives.
Motivations:
This Creative Director has the highest standards to pursue creativity and innovation at all costs. Creation of new mind-blowing, NBDB products/initiatives within our larger WPCG portfolio, which exceed benchmarks and gain industry recognition, will be paramount.

The Washington Post includes salary ranges for certain positions to comply with local pay transparency laws. The salary range for this position is:
102,500.00 - 170,800.00 USD Annual
The actual salary within this range will depend on individual skills, experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements. This position may be eligible for a bonus or incentive program, and a member of the Talent Acquisition team will discuss bonus payment terms and conditions during the interview process.

Responsibilities/Key Results:

- A strong creative director who knows how to think big and back it up with insights
- An articulate, effective and impassioned presenter of ideas to internal teams, agencies and CMOs alike
- A powerhouse who can move easily between creating content for pitches, immersive digital experiences, social and video as well as copywriting
- Someone who gets the business of good content marketing as much as the craft
- Outstanding diplomacy that helps facilitate strong cross-team collaboration
- Ability to manage a big workload that includes presale pitching and producing sold programs simultaneously
- Ability to move at lightning speed without sacrificing quality or ability to meet deadlines
- A person with the listening skills and creative chops to make their big ideas help brands achieve their objectives and KPIs
- A champion brainstormer who arrives to creative conversations with ideas and solutions
- Someone capable of distilling complex ideas into engaging, relevant, fresh storytelling
- A content creator adept at collaborating with designers and other editors to develop original, unique content across a variety of topic verticals
- Impeccable presentation skills
- A passion for new media and desire to keep up with the industry advances that distinguish the best content creation teams from the rest of the pack
Qualifications:
- 7-9 years of creative work (preferable a lead position) at a brand studio or agency or news platform.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across teams effectively to bring an idea or program to fruition.
- Goal and performance-oriented
- Proven experience working with emerging platforms for brands partners (i.e., TikTok)
- Proven experience mentoring and managing creative teams.
- Ability to strike a balance between upholding standards of creative excellence and allowing creative leads to have a level of autonomy on their projects.
- A history of producing award-worthy work that has made headlines (in both trade and consumer press).
