Our client in the non-profit industry is seeking an Accounts Payable Accountant to assist their organization with month end closings. The Accounts Payable Accountant will oversee report for cash flows, maintain general ledger and expense accounts. Candidates must be able to:
- Oversees reports regarding cash flow; ensures correct payments are made in a timely manner
- Develops guidelines for proper handling and coding of invoices to maintain general ledger expense account and inventory records
- Analyzes expense reports and other invoices for accuracy and eligibility for payment
- Verifies payments before controllers signature is added by reviewing checks and vouchers
- Reconciles accounts payable total and general ledger with other applicable records (e.g., subsidiary vendors ledger)
- Facilitates correct and timely preparation of budget reports and purchase journals
Qualifications:
- Associates in Accounting at the minimum (experience may suffice)
- Full charge AP and experience working in month end close activities such as Journal entries, reconciling accounts, and posting entries
- Experience within a medium to large company is necessary
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient Microsoft Excel, BILL and grant accounting preferred. Good Excel skills needed along with non profit accounting software experience
- Thorough understanding of accounts payable functions
- Excellent analytical skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
