Westat is seeking a Research Assistant/Project Coordinator to join our Education Studies Practice and National Comprehensive Center teams, and work directly with the Project Coordinator and Senior Project Manager in supporting day-to-day activities for the Center. You will interface frequently with project directors and key members of project teams, providing critical operational support and participating in designing and implementing operational processes and procedures.

Job Responsibilities:
•     Work closely with the Project Coordinator and Senior Project Manager to assess and address operational needs for the National Center and its project teams.
•     Coordinate and schedule project meetings and support meeting facilitation needs during virtual and in-person events.
•     Assist the Project Coordinator in managing the schedules and travel arrangements for National Center leadership.
•     Coordinate with operations teams to develop and monitor implementation of project management tools/resources such as policy and procedure manuals, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and process documents.
•     Maintain agendas, notes, and minutes of various team and client meetings.
•     Coordinate interactions with project teams, colleagues, and clients.
•     Other activities, as required.

Basic Qualifications:
•     A bachelor's degree and 1-2 years of experience in project or event coordination.
•     Advanced experience with Microsoft Office suite. 

Preferred Qualifications:
•     Previous experience with Box, Smartsheet, and/or Microsoft Teams/Zoom.
•     Previous experience managing calendars and travel bookings for corporate executives.
•     Previous experience developing policy manuals, SOPs, and onboarding materials.
•     Previous experience in the education sector and a basic understanding of commonly used terms in education.

Other Required Qualifications:
•     Demonstrated time management skills with an ability to prioritize tasks.
•     Well-developed organizational skills and adherence to naming and filing conventions.
•     Attention to detail with an ability to edit and refine written materials.
•     Communication skills.
