Job Description

We are looking for a Global Client Partner, Health & CPG with CPG and/or pharma experience to join our Global Client Partner team.

What the successful candidate will bring to the table: relationships in and an understanding of the CPG and pharma categories; a disciplined approach to maintaining daily sales activity levels; ability to sell ideas outside the RFP cycle; the ability to prospect and acquire new businesses; masterful presentation skills; and a proven track record in building and sustaining client-based relationships. We'll also need you to be on the lookout for emerging trends within the pharmaceutical industry, to think beyond The Washington Post's current digital product lines for the next big thing, and to develop relationships outside the typical media buying chain-all to drive incremental sales that will meet and exceed our goals. The role will report to the Director of Healthcare.

Responsibilities:
  • Sell premium digital advertising products through direct client and agency engagement.
  • Provide strategic direction internally on how we build our CPG & Pharma business strategy and establish new data partnerships across both direct and programmatic.
  • Establish relationships with clients to understand their business needs and goals.
  • Create customized solutions and close sales for retained/incremental revenue.
  • Uncover new opportunities while remaining steadfast with your current client list.
  • Communicate and report sales plans and actions taken to management.
  • Deeply understand health and pharma industry trends as they pertain to your clients.
  • Employ an entrepreneurial and creative approach to your business.
  • Collaborate with internal partners effectively Attend outside functions as needed.


Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in media sales and/or sales adjacent roles; CPG and/or pharma experience required
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Ability to provide strategic direction on the CPG and/or Pharma category to peers and leadership team
  • Experience selling digital and mobile advertising
  • Ability to travel to client locations for in person meetings
  • Strong presentation and in-person sales skills and a proven record of accomplishment in building and sustaining client/agency relationships
  • Knowledge of digital media market and the ability to respond effectively to market direction, client needs and competition
  • A strong business development focus, willing to self-start and prospect to uncover new business
  • Ability to establish rapport, develop credibility and sell ideas to senior management
  • A strong, professional, goal-oriented work ethic and a track record of meeting quarterly/annual goals
  • A desire to manage the entire sales process (including prospecting, acquiring new business and maintaining relationships)

The Washington Post includes salary ranges for certain positions to comply with local pay transparency laws. The salary range for this position is:
131,800.00 - 219,600.00 USD Annual

The actual salary within this range will depend on individual skills, experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements. This position may be eligible for a bonus or incentive program, and a member of the Talent Acquisition team will discuss bonus payment terms and conditions during the interview process.
