Duties

  • You will develop new approaches and techniques and extensive coordination to support the implementation and acquisition of a verity of IT systems, products and service.
  • You will be required to develop new interpretations and procedures that extend existing procedures and may result in precedents for others to follow.
  • You will provide consultation and instruction to functional area users on complex IT programs and functions.
  • You will critically review text proposals and evolution plans to determine their impacts.
  • You will design, normalize, develop, install, and implement databases.
  • You will maintain and monitor performance tuning, backup and recovery of databases.
  • You will formulate, recommend, and implement software configuration management policies and procedures.
  • You will provide comprehensive history of audit trail of software configurations, including reporting tools.
  • You will support technical activities and interactions with team members that are focused on developing, testing and implementing cloud and data engineering solutions.
  • You sill support development of cloud architecture solutions that consider security considerations and continuous monitoring.
  • You will support development of technical roadmaps that consider technology solutions across product lines, and assess business impact, resourcing, schedule constraints and guide product delivery.
  • You will provide direction and hands-on execution assistance to DevSecOps product teams on roadmap planning, agile SW development, data migrations, infrastructure requirements, and testing frameworks.
  • You will support IT portfolio management efforts to coordinate and articulate design concepts, provide demonstrations, convey technical aspects for each capability and evaluate solution strategies.
  • You will partner with internal and external product teams operating in a shared service environment to ensure appropriate support levels, communications, and coordination of engineering activities.
  • You will collaborate with analytics and functional business teams to improve data models that feed business intelligence tools, increasing data accessibility, and fostering data-driven decisions.
  • You will implement and optimize services to monitor data quality, ensuring production data is always accurate and available for key stakeholders and enterprise business processes.
  • You will work closely with product management and engineering teams to continuously refine cloud architecture, platform, application, and data service designs.

  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.


Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or NH-2 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: ensuring the rigorous application of information security/information assurance policies, principles and practices to the delivery of application software and database management systems and software.

Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.

1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: analyzing and defining data requirements and specifications.

2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: working with customers to test applications.

3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: evaluating and providing recommendations on new database technologies and architectures.

4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: assisting with the technical IT aspects of projects and helping address technical issues.
