ASU Production Manager The George Mason University, College of Visual and Performing Arts, seeks qualified candidates for the Production Manager position. The Arts Support Umbrella Production Manager's primary role is to oversee technical management of produced and presented work for the CVPA's academic units. Oversight also includes the management of CVPA performance and support spaces, which include: Harris Theater, TheatreSpace, Black Box, Dance Performance Studio, DeLaski Rehearsal Room, Costume Shop, Scene Shop, Prop Shop, and Audio Lab. The Production Manager is responsible for the smooth coordination of users with facility technical staff, as well as the planning, budgeting and execution of technical operations and equipment and supply upgrades and replacement.George Mason University has a strong institutional commitment to the achievement of excellence and diversity among its faculty and staff, and strongly encourages candidates to apply who will enrich Mason's academic and culturally inclusive environment. Responsibilities:Supervise all aspects of production including audio, lighting rigging and stage management as well as the coordination of all backstage labor, rentals and services;Responsible for the advancing and coordinating of technical requirements and logistics for all CVPA venues;Oversee Production Budget. Including the administration of over hire wage payroll. Purchasing and rental of event related equipment and supplies;Oversee the supervision of ASU Venue Technicians, ASU Technical Director and ASU Costume Shop Supervisor, including Annual Performance Evaluations;Oversee internal and external training, including approving funding and/or time off for attending workshops and conferences;Schedule full-time Venue Technicians and wage over hire staff; andWork in conjunction with CVPA Executive Director and CVPA Facilities Coordinator to develop and implement the annual maintenance and inventory program for backstage operation and facility equipment for Harris Theatre, TheatreSpace, Dance Performance Studio, Costume Shop, and Scene Shop; and plan for special initiatives and projects, and perform the work as required for the replacement, repair, rehabilitation and installations.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in an arts-related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience;Working knowledge of theatrical lighting, sound, video, and rigging; andFamiliarity with the art forms of Theater, Dance and Music.Preferred Qualifications:Typically, four years professional experience in a production position with a major presenting and/or producing venue.
