Summary
The MIL Corporation is looking for a Journeyman ISSE (Information Systems & Cyber Security, Analyst) to provide support to accomplish Department of Defense (DoD) cybersecurity policy implementation, access control enforcement, activity monitoring, configuration tuning, and system administration in support of a Federal Government client on-site in Norfolk, VA.

Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college. A high school diploma and six (6) years of work experience related to the position or an Associate's Degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college plus four (4) years of additional work experience related to the position may be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree.

Summary
The MIL Corporation is looking for a Journeyman ISSE (Information Systems & Cyber Security, Analyst) to provide support to accomplish Department of Defense (DoD) cybersecurity policy implementation, access control enforcement, activity monitoring, configuration tuning, and system administration in support of a Federal Government client on-site in Norfolk, VA.
Responsibilities
- Work with all relevant Security Operations Center (SOC) customer groups including, systems administration team, network teams, security teams, infrastructure team, Enterprise Help Desk, program managers, and business unit sponsors.
- Provide customer support with the Vulnerability Remediation Asset Manager (VRAM).
- Work with the Command security team to review, follow-up and account for caveats attached to Authority to Operate (ATO) documents issued to the Command and its lower echelons.
- Track all internal cases and adhere to change management process as specified by the customer.
- Define and create, when needed, operational and cybersecurity polices in accordance with US Navy RMF, NIST and other Department of Defense regulations and guidelines.
- Participate in project meetings and conference calls.
- Provide monthly status reports that summarize outstanding problems and barriers, tasks completed and anticipated future actions.
- Train customer personnel in cybersecurity practices.
- Provide outputs needed to support RMF, such as recommending changes in technical mitigation documents.
- Possess technical experience to recommend mitigating and/or remediating vulnerabilities or misconfigurations found in reviewing various customer eMASS packages.
- Document findings and severity levels of non-compliance in formalized professional reporting, written and oral briefs, etc. in a customer acceptable format.
- Research new cybersecurity tools, hardware, and software for DoD/US Navy application.
Travel
Up to 10% of the time, to CONUS sites as required.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of Department of Defense cybersecurity experience.
- Experience with the U.S. Navy Risk Management Framework (RMF) process and procedures.
- 2 years of experience with eMASS.
- DoD 8570.01 Level 2 Certification (e.g., Security+), or higher Ability to be pro-active with tasks.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision.
- Analytical ability to research products on approved product lists.
- Per federal guidelines, you may be required to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination or willingness to obtain vaccination
