Treasury is responsible for the cash and investment management activities of the AARP enterprise. This includes maintaining sufficient liquidity for operating needs, maximizing earnings on investments within policy guidelines and efficiently processing daily transactions.

The Treasury Operations Assistant processes documents, correspondence, and checks. Adheres to the organization's document lifecycle procedures and archives inactive records in accordance with the records retention schedule. Ensures the timely and accurate processing of payments and all associated data. Reviews transactions and related documents and verifies work processes to ensure completeness, accuracy, and conformance to established service levels and applicable policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Opens, extracts, scans, and captures remittance data timely and accurately, and meets department productivity and quality standards for all jobs.
  • Operates high-speed mail equipment.
  • Enters member and donor information in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Conducts research using the member and donor database and archives applications to edit or update members and donors accounts.
  • Collaborates with associates regarding any issues or concerns and designates trainers for the permanent and temporary staff.
  • Reconciles daily payment types.

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma/GED, and/or vocational training required.
  • 1+ year of experience in a check and document handling environment.
  • Basic level of proficiency in MS Office products - Outlook Word, Excel.
  • Attention to detail with accuracy.
  • QWERTY keyboard usage and basic 10-key data entry with low error rate.
  • Ability to work OT when required.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Flexibility and willingness to learn and be trained in all areas of operations.
  • This job is in the office, no remote work.

Compensation and Benefits

For this position, we anticipate offering a salary between $36,000.00 - $42,000.00 per year. This role is also eligible to participate in an annual incentive plan with a percentage up to 12%. Bonus eligibilty is based on organization and individual performance.
