Judicial Education Program Assistant The Law & Economics Center (LEC), at the George Mason University Antonin Scalia Law School, invites applications for a Judicial Education Program Assistant. This position will be responsible for providing administrative support to the LEC's Judicial Education Programs. About the Center: The Law & Economics Center of the George Mason University Antonin Scalia Law School is a national center for research and education that focuses on the timely and relevant economic analysis of legal and public policy issues. To fulfill its education mission, the LEC provides dynamic training programs in law and economics to sophisticated domestic and international audiences including judges, academics, lawyers, government authorities and staff members, and state attorneys general and their senior staff.Responsibilities: The Judicial Education Program (JEP) Assistant will be responsible for supporting the LEC by managing educational programs for state and federal judges. Working closely with the JEP Coordinator and Associate Director, the Program Assistant will recruit to attract attendees, market educational programs, manage program registration and databases, act as the primary contact for assigned programs, manage event timelines and task lists, prepare content for websites and marketing materials, prepare event materials, provide on-site program management, manage program close out and reporting, and provide regular reports on assigned activities and events. The Program Assistant will also provide general administrative support to the JEP as necessary.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Excellent written, proofing and oral communication skills;Self-starter with the ability to work independently, but also as a member of a closely aligned team;Ability to prioritize effectively, seek clarification when appropriate, and manage tasks in a timely and highly organized manner; andAbility to work flexible and weekend hours as well as independently travel.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.Preferred Qualifications:Exposure to a legal or public policy environment through full-time employment, internships, part-time jobs, or classroom projects; andExperience with event or program management in either a work environment or as a volunteer.
