Adventist HealthCare seeks to hire an experienced Vice President and CEO of Howard University Faculty Practice Plan who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing.

Since 2020, Adventist HealthCare has partnered with Howard University Hospital under the Management Services Agreement with a primary goal of enhancing critically strategic operations, financial alignment between Howard University Hospital entities and carrying out the Howard University Hospital mission of education, research and clinical care.

The Howard University Faculty Practice Plan (HUFPP) is the multi-specialty faculty physician practice that is affiliated with Howard University Hospital and Howard University College of Medicine. Under the MSA Adventist HealthCare and the Howard University College of Medicine have partnered to further the success and mission of HUFPP.

As a Vice President and CEO of Howard University Faculty Practice Plan (HUFPP) you will:
•Be responsible for the achievement of the strategic, operational, and financial goals of HUFPP
•Profit and Loss (P&L) responsibility for the operations of HUFPP, including all aspects of effective operational and financial management and reporting, managed care contracting, and operational and capital budgeting.
•Implement operational processes and drive efficiencies at HUFPP to reduce administrative burden for HUFPP physicians.
•Develop and implement key initiatives to improve deficiencies ascertained through the evaluation of operations.
•Collaborate with Physician Enterprise leadership at Adventist HealthCare to apply effective processes, practice management tools, and best practices to the management of HUFPP.
•Evaluate the organizational structure for HU FPP, identifying the core competencies for each organizational unit, and effectively designing the relationships between organizational units to drive effective governance.
•Identify organizational goals, baseline metrics development of key performance indicators, and standardize processes, and monitoring of performance against goals, including those related to patient satisfaction, physician engagement and satisfaction, employee engagement, patient access, clinical excellence and patient safety, efficiency and effectiveness and financial performance.
•Work with Adventist HealthCare and Howard University for the development of the strategic vision for HUFPP and execution of strategic initiatives.
•Closely collaborate with the Chief Medical Officer to drive achieving mutual goals and cultivating long-term, collaborative relationships with HUFPP physicians.
•Ability to work collaboratively with Chairs, Leadership and Departmental Administrators, Physicians and Staff from diverse background and perspectives, across clinical and academic missions of an academic medical center to ensure efficient, effective clinic operations, while creating an environment conducive to engagement and satisfaction among physicians, other practitioners, and clinical staff

Qualifications include:
•M.B.A. or similar management degree preferred
•Proven executive with a minimum of 10 years executive leadership, preferably with respect to a multi-specialty physician practice operating within an academic health system environment
•Master of several performance improvement techniques, including Lean Six Sigma

Work Schedule:

Monday through Friday 8AM TO 5PM

Those testing positive are given the opportunity to re-apply in 90 days, if they can truthfully attest that they have not used any nicotine products in the past ninety (90) days and successfully pass follow-up testing.
