Principal Associate, Product Marketing (PMM) - Brand

The Capital One Brand team is seeking a Product Marketing Manager (PMM) for our Capital One Software line of business. We've developed a suite of internal solutions uniquely designed to meet the challenges of a digital-first, cloud-first business at scale. The Capital One Software (COS) team is exploring how these internal solutions across cloud, data, governance, and applications could serve the needs of other companies born or built in the cloud.

This marketer will leverage their experience in product marketing to forge relationships, create buy-in and develop a shared agenda with stakeholders across COS. They lead the definition and refinement of persona and messaging strategy. They have experience in the industry and leverage their industry knowledge to assess product-market fit, collect competitive intelligence, and drive market research engagements.

They are champions of COS products and contribute to end-to-end GTM strategy, including messaging, positioning, launch planning, sales and customer success enablement and customer adoption. They don't just focus on top-of-funnel goals, but also on activation as a measure of product success. They will be the experts in our customers and products, and directly influence our collective marketing strategy and product roadmap.

What you'll do:
  • Be the subject matter expert for key COS product(s); understand the technical ins and outs of how it works.
  • Work with our partners across technical product teams and marketing disciplines including PR, creative, social media and content to create compelling multi-channel campaigns.
  • Define and manage end-to-end GTM strategy and promotion plans for your product areas, including messaging, positioning, launch planning, sales enablement, and customer adoption.
  • Develop a detailed understanding of the sales funnel, personas, industries, and use cases to drive sales and marketing asset development.
  • Create compelling roadmap messaging and product demo paths for customer presentations, sales presentations, events, and analyst briefings.
  • Develop a portfolio of content targeted at software buyers that engages them throughout their journey, including product videos, case studies, blogs, white papers, webinars, thought leadership.
  • Develop insights based on product usage data, voice of customer, campaign effectiveness, and industry trends and translate those insights into actionable recommendations that promote business objectives and drive tangible results.
  • Influence enterprise-wide B2B product/software marketing agenda

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least 3 years of experience in a technology marketing role
  • At least 1 year of experience working in the cloud data management space

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to build and leverage deep technical expertise
  • Exceptional writer and storyteller
  • Startup experience
  • At least 5 years of experience in a marketing role
  • At least 3 years of experience marketing or selling to cloud technology buyers, including Data & Analytics leaders and Infrastructure & Operations leaders
  • At least 2 years of experience in the cloud data management space
  • Experience in highly cross-functional and matrixed teams

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Location is New York City: $118,700 - $135,400 for Principal Associate, Brand

Location is San Francisco, California: $125,700 - $143,500 for Principal Associate, Brand

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
