VIVA Event & Outreach Coordinator The Virtual Library of Virginia (VIVA), Virginia's academic library consortium, with its central office at the George Mason University Libraries, seeks to fill the position of Event & Outreach Coordinator. About the Position: The VIVA Event & Outreach Coordinator will be an integral part of the VIVA program, supporting community engagement efforts across the consortium. The Event & Outreach Coordinator develops, manages, coordinates, implements, promotes, and assesses a variety of educational outreach and other virtual and in-person events, programs, and meetings for the VIVA consortium. These include, but are not limited to, the Collections Forum, the Interlibrary Loan Forum, the Open & Affordable Forum, and the Annual VIVA Member Meeting, among others. As the primary liaison for VIVA Events, this position is the point person for all event communication and will work closely with the VIVA Director and VIVA Budget and Operations Manager to manage event budgets, locations, catering, technologies, and overall logistics. Additionally, this position works to streamline consortial communication by developing promotional pieces about VIVA resources and services for both internal and external audiences, maintains the VIVA website, and manages VIVA's social media accounts. This position performs regular departmental responsibilities, including engaging in departmental meetings, assisting with special projects as needed, and supporting the VIVA Outreach Committee. Required Qualifications:The following Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities are required:Experience in creating smooth and dependable logistical arrangements for events and programs. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in multiple formats to diverse audiences. Commitment to exceptional, proactive customer service;Ability to edit and maintain web pages;Working knowledge of virtual meeting and office software;Ability to maintain effective working relationships with multiple diverse audiences and higher education employees at all levels throughout the state;Attention to detail;Ability to grow with technological changes;Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently; andCan travel, when necessary, within Virginia.Preferred Qualifications:The following Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities are preferred:Bachelor's Degree in Communications or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience;Familiarity with social networking sites for varied communications purposes related to events promotions;Graphic design skills or training; andExperience working within academic libraries or higher education.
