Development Operations ManagerThe George Mason University Schar School of Policy and Government, invites applications for the position of Development Operations Manager. The Schar School of Policy and Government (Schar School) provides undergraduate and graduate students the skills, knowledge, and analytic abilities to be leaders and managers in the private, public, and nonprofit sectors. George Mason University has a strong institutional commitment to the achievement of excellence and diversity among its faculty and staff, and strongly encourages candidates to apply who will enrich Mason's academic and culturally inclusive environment.About the Position:The Development Operations Manager is responsible for administrative support for the Development team, inputting activities and updating advancement databases; creating, managing and analyzing reports; providing back-end donor relations support; providing support for the Schar School's Alumni Board; and coordinating campaign operations. This position ensures smooth operations and coordination with Central Advancement, the University Foundation, and the Dean's Suite.Responsibilities:Provide the full range of operational functions for the Senior Director of Development and Alumni Relations and the Development team, including administrative support, calendar management, gift processing, database management, and reporting;Generate appropriate electronic and other correspondence, and lead department donor stewardship activities;Manage and update all databases for development activities, and generate reports for Development Officers and the entire office on a routine and ad hoc basis;Generate portfolio reports for Development Officers. Run routine gift reports;Provide support for Schar School alumni outreach and alumni and advisory board activities. Provide support for donor relations and student scholarships;Maintain accurate and timely records using appropriate software, and follow Mason policies and procedures. Track donations, maintain files, and provide projections, as directed and needed. Ensure Donor records are clear, complete, and accurate. Track solicitation campaign results and analyze regularly for effectiveness;Work with Central Advancement and GMU Foundation in gifts processing, foundation fund creation and administration, and OSP interface when necessary; andUnder the direction of the Senior Director of Development, plan for the Schar School's participation in future School or University fundraising campaigns by managing the schedule, materials, collateral, database, and donor profiles for the campaign.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience;Demonstrated experience providing administrative support in an office setting;Advanced Microsoft skills (Word, Excel, Outlook); andAbility to work some evenings or weekends, depending on events and support needed.Preferred Qualifications:Experience in Development databases and reporting formats;Experience using Patriot Force, Orbis, Banner or IModules/Anthology software systems;Experience providing administrative support in an academic environment or higher education;Well-organized, detail oriented, and team player with outstanding multi-tasking skills;Demonstrated skill in effective verbal, interpersonal, and written communication; andAbility to anticipate issues, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt plans in a dynamic environment.
