Principal Associate, Upmarket Card Marketing
We're looking for a passionate, innovative, and data-driven Principal Associate to drive Capital One Card's Digital Spend Experiences Marketing agenda. The right candidate will have experience in developing and launching data-backed, multi-channel marketing strategies that drive customer awareness, engagement and adoption. The role will be part of the premium card loyalty marketing team and will focus on marketing innovative digital spend features to our cardholder base. This candidate will need to effectively build relationships across the organization and should thrive in a fast paced environment.
The ideal candidate will have experience developing and executing direct to consumer marketing campaigns that drive customer loyalty. To be successful, the candidate will need to work across multiple marketing channels and build powerful relationships and demonstrate strong storytelling abilities across the organization. The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
Location is New York City: $118,700 - $135,400 for Principal Associate, Marketing
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.

Key Responsibilities:
- Leverage customer data (by analyzing business results, marketplace trends and consumer insights via research) and business objectives to develop and flawlessly execute integrated multi-channel marketing strategies that drive customer awareness, engagement and adoption.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (business partners, creative teams, legal, PR, etc.) to provide strategic and tactical thought leadership to effectively drive project delivery.
- Utilize strong written and verbal communication skills and become an expert on marketing best practices across channels.
- Effectively manage many stakeholders while shepherding multiple marketing creative projects through our process and ensuring flawless delivery of strategic intent.
- Champion the brand, ensuring that all representation of our products (claims, imagery, card, etc.) are in line with their respective brand personas, voice and style guides.
- Be an advocate for delivering a seamless, integrated and premium customer experience.
- Develop learning agendas and test plans to continually optimize creatives based on consumer insights and in-market performance.
Ideal Candidate:
- Enthusiastic loyalty marketer. Proven ability to apply customer data and insights to build relevant and targeted messaging strategies that drive engagement, increase brand perceptions - and meet business objectives. Experience working at large organizations with a variety of marketing channels (email, in-app, direct mail, social, content, website, etc.) and partnering to ensure connected customer experiences across channels.
- Effective storyteller. Ability to develop clear and persuasive stories to gain buy-in on new marketing strategies to a wide range of audiences, including business partners and stakeholders.
- Clear and concise communicator. You are highly effective at engaging with a senior level audience. You are able to distill information down and use the correct level of zoom, based on your audience. You have strong presentation skills.
- Results-driven implementer. You're laser-focused on getting your work into market, analyzing results and optimizing future campaigns. You are able to break a strategy down into a testing plan that accelerates momentum and speed to market. You know how to rally the troops to move from planning to execution, and are always gathering learnings to carry over from previous work to new projects.
- Successful juggler. You don't get overwhelmed or flustered easily. You are detail oriented and have a proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize well and manage your time efficiently. Ability to prioritize competing priorities is critical.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or Military Experience
- At least 4 years of experience in brand strategy, product or digital marketing on agency or client-side with experience in managing multiple channels
- At least 4 years of experience in planning, executing and analyzing marketing programs
- At least 4 years of experience managing creative processes, partnering with creative teams and developing creative optimization frameworks that drive results
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Marketing, Business or Communications
- 3+ years of experience in marketing for financial services or another highly regulated industry
- 3+ years of experience driving optimization plans and creative strategy
- 2+ years of experience working with cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment with a track record of effectively working autonomously and navigating ambiguity
- 2+ years of experience working with marketing tech platforms, including data management platforms
