Summer Interns

Fairfax Water is a respected leader in the drinking water industry, supplying drinking water to nearly two million people in the communities of Fairfax, Loudoun, Prince William, Herndon, Vienna, Alexandria, Falls Church, and Fairfax City.  We are Virginia’s largest water utility and one of the 25 largest water utilities in the country, serving one of every five Virginians who obtain their water from public utilities. We are currently hiring summer interns to fill the following positions: Laboratory Aide, HR Aide, Accounting Aide, Clerical Aide, Field Services Aide, Maintenance Aide, Fleet Services Aide, Mechanical Maintenance Aide, Transmission Aide, Engineering Aide (Planning & Construction), and Network Aide.

There will be three groups of new hires reporting on their designated start dates. The start dates are May 22, June 5, and June 19.  

In addition to meeting the specific requirements listed for each position, the following qualifications are required:

• Must be enrolled as a full-time student at a college, university, or trade school for the upcoming fall to qualify for the program.
• Must possess a valid driver's license in good standing.
• Must be able to successfully pass a background investigation and pre-employment drug screening
• Fairfax Water requires new employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, subject to legally required exceptions.”
