Senior Analyst - Accounting

We are looking for a Senior Analyst to join a cross-functional team designed to deliver against corporate initiatives for multiple business lines. Your responsibilities will be associated with the implementation of corporate initiatives that have direct impacts to Controller systems and processes. You will utilize your systems and accounting industry knowledge as well as Agile experience. The Shared Systems team manages controls, analysis and system configuration changes for our general ledger, reconciliation, consolidations, external regulatory reporting and certification systems for the entire Controllers organization. The accuracy of these systems is essential to reporting correct financial information to our executives, regulators, and investors. In addition, you will have the ability to understand upstream and downstream processes that will impact these systems including line of business dependencies.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work with product owners and business to understand the requirements and how those requirements impact current configuration
  • Understand financial system value stream
  • Understand the high-level design, configuration design and set up of the systems we support
  • Participate in peer review and release review meetings to ensure adherence to best practices and standards
  • Work with tech partners to understand configuration impact of coding changes
  • Complete system/application configuration changes
  • Communicate implementation details to user community
  • Comply and stay current with configuration and testing processes and standards
  • Recommend changes or modifications to the existing processes and standards
  • Provide support for post-implementation processes and systems during warranty period; troubleshoot with tech
  • Maintain up-to-date understanding of projects that have a configuration impact. This includes activities, risks and issues, assumptions and dependencies
  • Agile performer duties and responsibilities required by Capital One


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience
  • At least 1 year of Accounting or Financial Services experience


Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least 1 year experience in an Agile Environment
  • At least 1 year of experience with PeopleSoft Financials System or another large financial system (Oracle or SAP)
  • At least 1 year of experience working on projects using an Agile framework, preferably Scrum
  • At least 1 year of experience using Jira
  • At least 1 year of experience Tableau and AWS
  • At least 1 year of experience using SQL
