Fiscal TechnicianThe George Mason University Department of Psychology is seeking a Fiscal Technician to provide departmental support for financial transactions. Provide support for students and faculty so university and department degree program and operational objectives are met. Interact in a pleasant, supportive manner with other staff, faculty, students, and university agencies as well as general public.The primary purpose of the Fiscal Technician is to provide fiscal support for Psychology faculty and graduate students in all administrative aspects of department and research funding. This includes maintaining compliance with University, state, department and sponsors' procedures and regulations.Responsibilities:Process, track and reconcile all financial transactions and budgetary commitments;Process all departmental purchases;Process travel and food/beverage reimbursements;Process petty cash requests and reimbursements;Maintain spreadsheets for tracking all departmental allocations;Maintain and update fiscal files to meet audit requirements; andProvide fiscal transaction support for Faculty, Staff and Students.Required Qualifications:Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel;High school diploma or GED;Motivated self-starter;High-level excellent customer service skills;Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines;Attention to detail;Numeric skills and reconciliation ability;Ability to work in a team environment; andExcellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication.Preferred Qualifications:Prior experience with reconciliations; purchasing and travel is a plus;Prior experience with university systems is a plus; andPrior knowledge of university fiscal policies is helpful.
