Facilities Manager, College of Visual and Performing Arts (CVPA) George Mason University's College of Visual and Performing Arts seeks qualified candidates for the CVPA Facilities Manager position. The CVPA Facilities Manager organizes building-related services for the College of Visual and Performing Arts facilities on the Fairfax campus. This role facilitates interactions between CVPA academic and auxiliary units and Mason Facilities Management, Housekeeping Department, Environmental Health and Safety, Police/Public Safety Division, Classroom Technologies, Telecom, and Office of Space Management ensuring facilities and equipment are well-maintained and ready to fulfill their academic, production, and exhibition missions; and, in coordination with CVPA senior leadership, long-range capital planning for CVPA academic and performance spaces.George Mason University has a strong institutional commitment to the achievement of excellence and diversity among its faculty and staff, and strongly encourages candidates to apply who will enrich Mason's academic and culturally inclusive environment. Responsibilities:Works directly with GMU Facilities Management and outside vendors to coordinate repairs and recommend preventive maintenance for all CVPA Facilities located on the Fairfax Campus;Secures bids/quotes for work and negotiates scope of work and contracts with internal and external suppliers. Process these through the eVA online procurement system, as necessary;Responsible for the monitoring, follow-up, completion, and reporting of all facility-related operations in CVPA;Works directly with GMU Housekeeping Department, GMU Environmental Health and Safety, GMU Police Public Safety Division- Key Control Office, Camera Technology and Card Security, GMU Classroom Technology, GMU Telecom and GMU Office of Space Management to ensure that all CVPA Facilities located on the Fairfax Campus are properly maintained;Responsible for the monitoring, follow-up, completion and reporting of all facility-related issues;Works directly with Mason Physical Plant and outside vendors to coordinate additions, upgrades, repairs and replacement of permanent theatrical equipment in CVPA spaces;Collaborates with the Arts Support Umbrella personnel to understand equipment needs and develop proactive replacement/repair procurement timelines;Develops and presents budget requests and manages the budget allocations for facilities projects and major equipment acquisitions within CVPA;Serves as the Dean's Administration's planner and coordinator for equipment and related maintenance contracts; andSeeks out opportunities to improve operations and make recommendations for their implementation.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and/or professional experience;Demonstrated ability to provide leadership on facilities matters;Significant experience and demonstrated skills in project planning and project management;Ability to work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision;Ability to build and utilize systems on a variety of platforms;Sophisticated communication and interpersonal skills;Ability to collaborate with stakeholders who have diverse and conflicting interests; facilitate dialogue; then implement the decision(s);Demonstrated analytical, planning, and organization skills; andDemonstrated experience working with diverse groups, projects, and communities.Preferred Qualifications:Knowledge of and experience in the leadership and management of facilities planning and operations and capital budgeting, preferably within a higher education setting.
