Job Announcement
Performs lead administrative duties for the Director of Aging Services. Ensures coordination of administrative processes for the division including: -development and implementation of division-wide administrative policies, procedures, work processes, and activities -effective coordination and communication with other DFS divisions, county and state agencies, public officials, DFS advisory boards, DFS clients, and the public -management of division support services to include workflow, document processing, systems integration, workload and priority determination -working as a team with other DFS administrative support staff to ensure division, program and agency priorities are addressed efficiently and effectively. Works with limited direction to address identified objectives. Excellent oral and written communication skills, organizational skills, and proficiency with personal computers and a variety of software applications are required. In addition, the work requires an extensive knowledge of programs and services offered in the division as well as a general knowledge of other programs and services provided by DFS, other human service agencies, and other county agencies and the key personnel for each area. The position must be sensitive to confidential issues, and exercise initiative, creativity and sound judgment to resolve difficult or unusual situations. Requires occasional evening and/or weekend work in order to provide support to one of the department's advisory boards.
The assigned functional areas of this position are high level administrative duties, Fiscal administration, Communication, and/or Information systems and software.
Employment Standards
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of education, experience and training equivalent to high school graduation and three years of experience providing administrative support in the assigned functional area(s).
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:
Valid driver's license.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check, a driving record check, and a check of the Child Protective Services Registry to the satisfaction of the employer.
All newly hired employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (two weeks after the last required dose) as a condition of employment or obtain approval of a medical or religious exemption prior to their start date. Proof of an exemption or vaccination status will be required during the pre-employment onboarding process. New employees who obtain an exemption from the vaccine mandate for medical or sincerely held religious beliefs may be subject to a weekly testing requirement. Vaccinated employees and employees with a medical or religious exemption will complete the attestation online on their first day of employment or shortly thereafter.
