Job Summary:
Westat is seeking a Research Assistant on a HIV related project to coordinate and support scientific working groups and protocol development teams. You will work with the project Leads to create, meeting schedules, develop agendas, prepare and distribute meeting materials, create and update meeting distribution lists, create and manage group folders in the project document management system, and draft, finalize, and distribute meeting summaries. This position has a flexible work arrangement to work 1-2 days a week onsite at our Rockville office.
Job Responsibilities:
• Work with project Leads to: develop agendas, prepare and distribute meeting materials, create and update meeting distribution lists, create and manage group folders in the project document management system, and draft, finalize, and distribute meeting summaries.
• Review investigative site documents for study activation.
• Maintain project documentation in web-based systems.
• Draft and maintain work instructions, study procedures and other study materials.
• Perform data entry and quality control checks.
Basic Qualifications:
• A bachelor's degree in the life sciences or public health related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Familiar with and have an interest in supporting clinical research, particularly research in adolescent HIV prevention and treatment and/or breast cancer.
Other Required Qualifications:
• Demonstrated communication skills.
• Strong technology and computer skills (particularly with Excel, Word, and other MS Office programs)
• Able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Collaboration with teams, managers and/or clients.
• Organization skills, including time management ability.
• Detail oriented.
