Emmes Services Pvt. Ltd , ("Emmes") is searching for Manager, Project Accounting in Clinical Research located in our Bangalore, India office. Emmes provides flexibility for office location preference, dependent upon position.

Primary Purpose
The Manager, Project Accounting will support Emmes' Director, Accounting & Finance Offshore Operations by managing and supervising, coaching, overseeing, and reviewing work, of the project accounting activities which will include all the activities in the Project Accounting area starting from tracking timesheets up to invoice generation for all the Emmes' global invoicing and Accounts Receivables(AR). The incumbent will also be responsible to provide guidance to the Project Accounting Staff in day-to-day operations and resolve project accounting queries by partnering with Business Leaders.
Responsibilities
· Supervises work, related to project accounting activities.
· Participates in PM (Performance Management) of the Project Accounting team through goal setting, mentoring/coaching, Performance Assessments, feedback mechanism and more.
· Oversees monthly time tracking and recording for all lines of business. Creates escalation metrics and reports on non-compliant individuals. Steps-in as required.
· Provides guidance on day-to-day issues and resolves project accounting queries when required.
· Creates internal control mechanism for all operational activities with Maker-Checker themes, Accountability, Responsibility, etc.
· Reviews revenue recognition methodologies in new contracts/projects and provides guidance to project accountants on preparing them.
· Audits projects are set up accurately in the accounting system in compliance with the contracts and ensures that the Tasks are allocated correctly.
· Inspects the timely maintenance of contract values (Pos, WOs, Change Orders, close outs etc.).
· Supervises monthly invoicing for all lines of business and verifies timely reporting.
· Manages timely closing and enforces proper accounting treatment, including project accounting; reviews/analyzes results; maintains and communicates closing schedules.
· Reviews Revenue Accounts/financials for accuracy, reviews projects with project managers/BU teams and journal entries and reviews account reconciliations.
· Assists in the annual audit by providing information and answering questions as requested.
· Develops and implements project accounting Standard Operating Process and procedures (SOPs) and ensure their compliance.
· Performs other duties as assigned
Experience
· Bachelor's degree and Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. CP/CPA preferred.
MBA-Finance will be considered.
· 8+ years of relevant work experience and 2+ years of experience in managing a team of 5-6 team members.
· Prior Offshore Project Accounting experience is preferred.
· Experience in mid to rapidly growing organization is preferred.
· Working experience with a mid to large ERP systems such as Oracle or SAP etc.
· Prior ERP implementation experience is preferred particularly in a transition phase migration.
· Hands on Project Accounting experience including working with Contracts, Orders, SOWs, POs, Change orders, and project estimates.
· Strong Knowledge of revenue recognition standards (ASC 606 etc.).
· Foster a team environment that promotes growth and relationship building within the business unit.
· Excellent People Management skills, Interpersonal skills etc.
· Must have solid financial analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently.
· Excellent customer service, organizational and time management skills.
· Strong PC skills inclusive of good work experience with MS Office Suite (Advanced Excel/Power BI/VBA).
· Ability to work well under pressure, deadlines and changes in priorities
