Performance Measurement & Business Analysis (PMBA) is responsible for aligning enterprise-wide metrics, analysis, reporting, and performance measurement tools to drive AARP's strategic and operating performance. PMBA includes a Business Analysis team that provides consulting and advisory services to projects and initiatives where there is an enterprise-wide impact, unknown root cause and/or complex stakeholder interactions.

As a Business Analyst Intern, you will apply strategic, analytical, and creative thinking to solve challenging business problems. On any given day, you could be working with analytics and analysis professionals and AARP Executives, focusing on solutions to the most important problems to ensure we meet the needs of the business and advance the AARP mission to support the 50+. Responsibilities

  • Collect data on companies, competitors, industries, and markets to consolidate information into actionable items, reports, and presentations
  • Assist with business casing and competitive intelligence projects to deliver strategic insights to senior management
  • Provide analytical support focused on generating business performance insights and improved understanding of relevant market dynamics
  • Responsible for communicating analytical results to non-technical audiences in a clear and concise format
  • Apply innovative thinking and problem-solving to challenges
  • Meet with key leaders and learn how we help AARP to achieve its goals

Qualifications

  • Prospective interns must currently be pursuing a bachelor's or higher with an expectation that the degree will be obtained by August 2024
  • Currently enrolled in a degree-seeking program related to business, finance, economics, accounting, marketing, or a related field
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Ability to articulate complex technical issues to those not as experienced
  • They will also have proven analytical skills, excellent written and oral communication abilities
  • Advanced user of Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Must be available to participate in the intern program from June to August, working 40 hours a week

Flexible Work Arrangement (FWA)

AARP observes Mondays and Fridays as telecommuting workdays, except for essential functions. Remote work and telecommuting can only be done within the United States and its territories.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly range is $18 for undergraduates, $21 for graduate students, and $28 for Ph.D. candidates. Internships are non-exempt positions and are not eligible for employee benefits.
