Principal Coordinator, Trade Finance Services

Commercial Operations is looking for a candidate to join our Trade Finance Services team based in Wilmington, DE.

In this role, you will be developed as a subject matter expert for trade finance and our letter of credit portfolio supporting clients firmwide.

Within this role your responsibilities will include:

• Responsible for negotiating, issuing, and advising Standby and Trade Letters of Credit for domestic and international transactions.
  
• Responsible for processing Documentary Collection transactions.
  
• Negotiate draft Letters of Credit and provide commentary to internal and external stakeholders.
  
• Act as point of contact for clients conducting Import, Export, and Standby related business transactions.
  
• Exposure to syndicated lending credit facilities. Managing direct and indirect LC exposure.
  
• Identifying and resolving issues and escalating to direct and senior management.
  
• Responsible for handling incoming and outgoing commercial and/or legal documents on site, be the first line of defense to examine, review and assign documents accordingly.
  
• Responsible for generating ad-hoc reports for stakeholders.

• Have an understanding of accounting and reconciliations
  
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to interact effectively with Internal and External clients.
  
• Highly motivated professional, possessing strong analytical thinking, problem solving skills, and attention to detail.
  
• An interest and fungible skills in machine learning, robotic process automation, and application improvement.
  
• Demonstrate aptitude to question current procedures with a focus on continuous process improvement.
  
• Ability to respectfully challenge, make decisions and handle multiple projects or deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  

Work at Home Technology Requirements:

• A secure home office environment that is free from background noise and distractions
  
• A reliable private internet connection that is not supplied by use cellular data (hot spot)
  
  • Cable or fiber connections are preferred
    
  • Internet service download speeds must be at least 5 mbps, with 10+ mbps preferred - check your download speed using a speed test. A sample one can be found here .   • Sustained ability to maintain latency less than 250 ms in voice calls is required
    
• Hard wired connectivity is preferred, any use of wireless connectivity must be Private (non-public) and password protected through WPA2-PSK (AES) encryption. If you have any questions about your encryption, please consult with your internet provider
  
  • A private network is password protected where you have ownership or line of sight to every device on the network

• Requirements are subject to change, as new systems and technology is delivered. Capital One reserves the right to modify internet service requirements with sixty (60) days notice.
  

Candidates must live within 100 miles driving distance of one of the hub locations based in Wilmington, DE

Basic Qualifications:

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree or Military Experience
  
• At least 1 year of International Banking experience
  
• At least 2 years of banking experience
  
• At least 2 years of experience in Trade Finance
  
• At least 1 year of experience working with International Chamber of Commerce Rules and Regulations for documentary Letters of Credit, Standby Letters of Credit, Documentary Bills for Collection, Uniform Rules for reimbursement, and International Standard Banking Practice.
