Job Description:
Westat has a new opportunity for an Internal Controls Analyst, reporting to the Internal Controls Manager. This role will be integral to our success with audit engagements by serving as the Project Manager working closely with internal and external stakeholders. The individual in this role will help to shape improvements around audit engagement effectiveness and efficiency by liaising with external audit agencies and internal process owners, identifying and implementing best practices, standardizing audit support material, promoting and monitoring adherence to quality standards. 

This is a remote position within the US with core hours of 10am-3pm EST.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Project manage external audit engagements 
  • Provide guidance to process owners on issues or questions related to audit support 
  • Proactively keep key internal stakeholders informed of emerging trends, developments and practices affecting external audit engagement landscape
  • Assist in the development, analysis, and internal reporting of performance metrics for audit engagements

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or related field
  • 5-8 Years of related experience
  • Project management experience leading audits or special projects
  • Previous work experience in a client facing environment, liaising with external auditors.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) experience and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) experience
  • Experience working in a mid-to-large organization 

Other Required Qualifications:  
  • Demonstrated communication skills 
  • Attention to detail with organizational and time management skills
  • Collaboration with teams, managers and/or clients
  • Detail Oriented
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, teams, and SharePoint
