Adventist HealthCare and Capital Choice Pathology Laboratory seek to hire a Pathology Support Technician Intern who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing.

As a Pathology Support Technician Intern, you will:
• Assists to ensure patient safety when accepting specimens from internal hospital departments and external physician clients
• Assists to collaborate and partner with professional and clinical staff solving specimen handling issues, including incorrectly submitted specimens with emphasis on minimizing risk to patients
• Assists to meet high quality standards in regards to irretrievable nature of patient specimens
• Assists to proficiently use and accession specimens using LIS system with high level of precision, i.e., Cerner, Copath, Word, Excel and other customized programs
• Assists to monitor and document instrumentation quality assurance records and participate in improvement initiatives
• Assists to comprehend instrumentation variances on daily basis, trouble shoot equipment and other quality issues when appropriate
• Assists to troubleshoot any issues with specimens for resolution while demonstrating problem solving abilities
• Assist with compliance of all professional federal, state, and CAP requirements including all chemical waste management, safety and infection control policies

Qualifications include:
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Experience with business software applications including Microsoft applications and major Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) preferred

Work Schedule:

Monday - Friday: 8:00am - 4:30pm
