Senior Director, Product Management - Developer Platform - Capital One Software (Remote Eligible)

We are seeking a Sr. Director of Product - Developer Platform to lead the vision, strategy, and execution of our horizontal developer platform products. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the developer ecosystem, data management technologies, and software development practices. They will have a deep understanding of the scaffolding and foundational capabilities required to deliver a world-class developer platform. They will be responsible for defining the technical product roadmap, managing cross-functional teams, and driving the delivery of high-quality products and services that enable our customers to build innovative solutions.

In this role, you will be expected to demonstrate proficiency in four key areas:

    • You'll lead a team that translates vision into strategic product roadmaps with an agile delivery approach in partnership with engineering while managing cyber, operational and/or regulatory risks
  • Technology Driven
    • You'll partner with engineering leaders to influence end-state architecture and drive secure, resilient, performant and scalable technology solutions that solve material customer and business problems
    • You'll be responsible to make technology investments decision by assessing opportunities for reusing Enterprise solutions or for and building new ones with extensibility & enterprise scalability in mind
  • Transformational Leadership
    • You'll influence a broad set of senior executives across the enterprise and your organization who are stakeholders or delivery partner to successfully deliver on your portfolio/product vision
    • You'll establish a long-term product portfolio strategy, informed by customer and business needs, to gain alignment, secure resources and overcome impediments
    • You'll attract, grow, empower, and inspire top product talent as they develop and deliver on their local product strategy

Key Responsibilities:
  • Define the vision, strategy, and technical product roadmap for horizontal developer platforms that align with the company's business goals and customer needs.
  • Collaborate with engineering, design, marketing, and sales teams to prioritize features, build consensus, and drive product development.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to identify and evaluate new technologies, tools, and platforms that can enhance our developer platform offerings.
  • Lead the product team to create high-quality product requirements, user stories, and product specifications that enable the engineering team to build and deliver high-quality products and services.
  • Define and measure key product metrics that track the success of our developer platform offerings and inform future product development.
  • Communicate product strategy, status, and priorities to senior management, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
  • Manage a team of product managers and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of products and services.
  • Develop strong relationships with customers, partners, and the developer community to understand their needs and gather feedback that can inform our product roadmap.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least 10 years of experience in digital product management

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related technical degree.
  • Experience in a Product Management role focused on developer platforms or data management technologies.
  • Strong technical acumen and experience working with software engineering teams.
  • Experience developing and executing product strategies and roadmaps that align with business goals and customer needs.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and align cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated success in launching and growing developer platform products and services.
  • Passion for innovation and a deep understanding of emerging technologies and trends in the developer ecosystem

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Location is New York City: $267,300 - $305,100 for Sr. Dir, Product Management

Location is San Francisco, California: $283,100 - $323,100 for Sr. Dir, Product Management

Remote roles in other areas of New York & California, and across Colorado & Washington: $226,500 - $258,500 for Sr. Dir, Product Management

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
