Job Description

Job Duties:

Work across many backend services which power subscriber experiences onsite and in native mobile apps. Write high-quality code with best practices and design patterns in mind. Engage in code review/quality assurance. Work with partners from different teams and disciplines to create a scalable experimentation and personalization architecture. Consult with partners in Product to form sprint goals and break work into atomic units. Optimize the underlying AWS infrastructure for subscription services for performance and cost. Guide technical decisions and participate in technical architecture discussions. Limited on-call hours are required.

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Computer and Information Science; and 3 years of experience as a Software Engineer. Also required: 3 years of experience working on an agile software development team working iteratively with designers, product managers, and stakeholders; 3 years of experience writing unit, integration, and end to end tests to ensure code quality; 3 years of experience with Java, Tomcat, DevOps technologies such as Jenkins and AWS products, MySQL, Oracle, and other relational databases, and Web servers such as Apache httpd. All experience may be earned concurrently. Remote work from any US state or DC is permissible.
