Artist Services Coordinator, Hylton Performing Arts CenterThe George Mason University Hylton Performing Arts Center, seeks qualified applicants for an Artist Services Coordinator position. George Mason University has a strong institutional commitment to the achievement of excellence and diversity among its faculty and staff, and strongly encourages candidates to apply who will enrich Mason's academic and culturally inclusive environment.About the Position:The Artist Services Coordinator is responsible for managing all aspects of the visiting artists' stay (including performances and residencies) for the Hylton Performing Arts Center. This position is housed within the Operations team and will be in charge of coordinating event-related details such as hotel, transportation, hospitality/catering, general programming logistics, and day of-schedules for the professional artists performing at the HPAC. They will be the primary communicator and on-site coordinator for visiting artists, helping the team to manage performances and residencies.Responsibilities:Serves as liaison between George Mason University, Hylton Performing Arts Center and contracted artists and/or artist representatives. Ensures HPAC provides an exceptional overall experience to visiting artists, while fulfilling contractual obligations;Arrange and execute visiting artists travel, lodging, local transportation, schedules, and hospitality for all artists contracted by the Hylton Performing Arts Center;Provide onsite artist services for Hylton Presents, American Roots, Matinee Idylls and Family Series events at the Hylton Performing Arts Center;Manage the contract process for rental clients;Participate in regular staff, event, marketing and production meetings. Facilitate coordination across all departments for effective overall management; andAssist Operations Manager with 25Live data entry for all events including Hylton Presents professional performance and rental clients. Assist on building wide rentals planning and day of event management.Required Qualifications:Ability to provide incredible customer service and hospitality to all visiting artists, while managing details and deadlines for upcoming shows;Proven interpersonal skills including both written and oral communications;An aptitude for organization and a willingness to master new systems, especially as it relates to the university's financial tracking, reporting, and file sharing;General computer skills in PC operating systems and software; andMust currently possess a valid drivers' license for at least two years required, as well as a clean driving record with no more than two at-fault accidents in order to operate State-owned vehicle; must currently possess an appropriate, active, valid motor vehicle operator's license that meets all of GMU's requirements for operating state vehicles and equipment under Mason's Vehicle Use Policy 1411 https://universitypolicy.gmu.edu/policies/vehicle-use/. The Office of Risk Management reserves the right to review the driver's licenses and Motor Vehicle Reports (MVRs) of all candidates selected with employment contingent upon a favorable review.Preferred Qualifications:Bachelors in Performing Arts discipline, Arts Administration, or Communications, preferred but not required; or equivalent combination of education and experience in the field; andExperience in the visual or performing arts, preferred but not required to be in a multidisciplinary presenting venue.
