Job Announcement

For the Court Technology Office, the position works in a matrix management organizational environment where work may be performed under the direction of several program managers. Court technology areas include Court LAN and Applications, Courtroom Technology and Architecture & Infrastructure Management. The position provides Tier-II technical support in the diagnosis and resolution of hardware and software problems with court IT systems on the Enterprise LAN/WAN/I-Net and Wireless (WLAN and Wi-Fi) network, to include internet/intranet applications.

Provides support for complex audio-visual systems in use throughout the courthouse related to Courtrooms and Conferencing Solutions. Provides technical support in the daily operation and maintenance of the Courthouse and Courtrooms for their respective IT assets. The IT assets are Desktop workstations, Servers, Printers, Audio/Visual Equipment, Seat management of software installation and licensure.

May require medium levels of programming, coding, and authoring of IT software solutions. Requires direct interface with client/vendor/contractor staff in task-based work. Enforces County standards and compliance procedures. Coordination of work for Move, Add and Change (MAC) orders using the county standard request and change management system and methods.

After-hours and weekend support will be required in both emergency and planned events. Working in team settings to develop solutions, documentation and planning is required. Both formalized and ad hoc training will be performed.

Employment Standards

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Possession of an associate degree in computer science, electrical engineering, electronics, or a related field; plus three years of network and/or telecommunications experience; or a bachelor's degree in such fields; plus one year of experience in network or telecommunications system design, analysis, installation, and troubleshooting.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • All newly hired employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (two weeks after the last required dose) as a condition of employment or obtain approval of a medical or religious exemption prior to their start date. Proof of an exemption or vaccination status will be required during the pre-employment onboarding process. New employees who obtain an exemption from the vaccine mandate for medical or sincerely held religious beliefs may be subject to a weekly testing requirement. Vaccinated employees and employees with a medical or religious exemption will complete the attestation online on their first day of employment or shortly thereafter.
  • The appointee to the position will be required to complete a criminal background check and credit check to the satisfaction of the employer.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • At least two years of computer helpdesk operations experience including network users, hardware, and software support.
  • At least one year of hands-on experience in audio/video or network design and implementations.
  • A certification from an Audio/Video organization or institution is preferred but not required.
  • Less than a year of progressively responsible, hands-on work experience in enterprise audio/video or network design, implementation and troubleshooting.
  • Previous hands-on work experience with network management, relevant to network operations and telecommunications systems, such as: knowledge of hardware and software; configuration; cabling; power requirements; and ancillary equipment.
  • Ability to train customers/clients and lower-tiered professional team members.
  • Knowledge of and/or previous experience in IT Project Management.
  • Previous experience in a courthouse environment and knowledge of court procedures and technology.
  • Project support skills with ability to assist management to plan, schedule, coordinate and manage special IT projects; ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Effective oral and written communications skills, willingness to learn and demonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to lift and install moderately heavy items, up to 50 pounds, such as desktop computers, monitors, printers, AV equipment, and other hardware peripherals necessary to perform requirements of the position. Visual acuity is required to read data on computer monitor, incumbent must be able to operate keyboard driven equipment. All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
