SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Director of Practice Transformation, the Program Associate, Communication and Dissemination is responsible for supporting NCAP’s Practice Transformation portfolio. Specific responsibilities include ongoing logistical and communications support of the organization’s educational/training activities, such as the online Community Action Academy, webinars, and virtual learning communities. Additionally, this position supports NCAP’s collaborative efforts to facilitate the efficient and effective dissemination of tools and resources across the national Community Action network through a variety of multi-media outlets, including newsletters, NCAP’s website, and published materials.

The starting salary range for this position is $50,000-$55,000, based on experience. This is a full-time, exempt position and eligible for NCAP’s competitive benefits package, which includes health insurance, retirement options, and a generous paid leave policy. While this is a remote position, occasional travel may be required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Communication of Training & Technical Assistance Activities and Opportunities

  • Collaborate with supervisor and Practice Transformation team to create and implement effective communications & resource dissemination strategies Develop and maintain communication platforms, including but not limited to NCAP’s website, online Community Action Academy, Constant Contact, and social media Draft high-quality, timely communications on behalf of the Practice Transformation team for publication on the aforementioned platforms Curate & coordinate external resources to be disseminated to the Community Action network and/or external partners via the aforementioned platforms

Training & Technical Assistance Support Requests

  • Serve as initial point of contact for T/TA support requests from both within the Community Action network and external partners
  • Consult with the requesting party to clarify challenges, objectives, and budget, as needed; and communicate findings to appropriate member of the Practice Transformation team Provide resources and guidance from curated T/TA support materials to requesting parties, as appropriate Provide follow-up support for all T/TA support requests

Grants Management & Reporting

  • Contribute to the development of annual work plans & operational schedules in coordination with supervisor and Practice Transformation team Coordinate, plan, and draft programmatic sections of semi-annual reports Organize and maintain grant documents, including tracking documents, progress reports, grant continuation forms, budgets/programs and all financial reconciliations

Learning Community Groups (LCGs) & Communities of Practice (COPs)

  • Develop and maintain learning content digests for assigned LCGs/COPs, routinely reconciling with established learning objectives Draft agendas and presentation slides for LCG/COP meetings in coordination with the appropriate Sr. Program Associate Attend assigned LCG/COP meetings, providing technical support, as needed Contribute to regular, ongoing communication with LCG/COP members via email, Constant Contact, and/or Community Action Academy

Other Duties and Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the planning and execution of NCAP events, including both virtual and in-person events Contribute to the planning, drafting, and design of NCAP-produced learning resources, including printed materials and videos Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in managing human service programs or agency; nonprofit management and governance; project and grants management/reporting; and/or coalition work Minimum four-year Bachelor of Arts or Sciences degree in business, public administration, social work, or a related field of study Knowledge of financial empowerment, homelessness, place-based development strategies, program integration, toxic stress/trauma and other anti-poverty approaches Knowledge of best practices related to organizational culture, branding, communications, website design, and virtual tools and platforms Expertise in following areas are strongly preferred: adult learning and development, human services delivery practices, organizational development and change dynamics, racial equity, community assessment, strategic planning, and evaluation

Other Desired Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience/expertise in: Federal and state regulations governing grants administration and reporting Results-oriented management and accountability (ROMA) or comparable framework Community building & facilitation Community Action (local or state association)
