Our teams include Communications, Community Impact and Investment, Community Finance, CRA Strategy and Program Management, the Government and Political Affairs Group, Regulatory Relations, and Strategy and Engagement. Through our teams, we have unparalleled access to a diverse group of motivated changemakers similarly focused on the ingredients for a more perfect future.

Our approach involves focusing on innovation and opportunity related to long term well being for our associates, customers, and communities. On the intersection between business and social impact. On disruption and dreaming of a better way. This is the language of changing things for the better. Of Capital One.

The Community Impact and Investment team creates impactful community outcomes and positions Capital One as the most strategically bold, innovative, and mission driven financial institution through:

  • activating the capabilities of "impact forward" associates

The Community Impact and Investment team supports Capital One through leading enterprise volunteerism, conducting market research, fostering community relationships, grant making, originating CDFI loans and partnering with and advising LOBs.

The Opportunity and Role:

  • You'll own and prioritize the long-term (12-18 months) volunteerism product roadmap to deliver on business outcomes, and then you'll deliver the tooling, resources, programming and interaction models that bring those volunteerism products to life.

Test, Learn and Scale
  • You'll deliver volunteerism solutions that support both always on, enterprise-wide virtual engagement opportunities and targeted "weeks" or "seasons" of enterprise service.
  • You'll develop a self-service model "Center of Excellence" for hyper-local engagement (ex: Highlight the Impact Initiative, guidance on non-exempt volunteer processes/approvals, how to search for local opportunities, how to record personal volunteerism, etc.)
  • You'll test net new programs (e.g., a sabbatical program) or test the evolution and improvement of existing programs (e.g, donor matching or Board placement and service)

Running the team with a Business Mindset
  • You'll develop a strategy that defines what it means for COF to have a culture of service and how do we build towards that vision.
  • You'll develop quantitative metrics, tooling, and reporting to monitor associate engagement in the community, including which engagements are qualified to meet our regulatory requirements
  • You'll define KPIs for your tools, programs and interaction models and will be responsible for measuring and tracking to those measures, with an eye to adjusting and refining your roadmap as the data dictates
  • You'll regularly evaluate and improve the efficiency of our community engagement approach, as well as the operational model used to deliver the value

  • You'll be responsible for attracting and retaining top talent to your team
  • You'll coach them towards great business acumen, building strong stakeholder relationships, bringing a data-driven eye to evaluating need and opportunity and excelling in ambiguity
