Job Summary:
Westat is seeking a full-time senior SAS Programmer/Analyst. Westat programmers and epidemiologists provide support services for the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) Epidemiology Branch. Westat supports a longitudinal study to determine the environmental and genetic risk factors for cancer, by conducting a range of data management and analytic tasks. This role will assist the Westat team in developing analytical variables and data files, programming complex longitudinal data, and managing tasks.

Job Responsibilities:
•     Use SAS to perform data management tasks and support analysis.
•     Work with multifaceted teams comprised of epidemiologists, statisticians, and programmers.
•     Conduct data reviews and create documentation.
•     Assist with task timelines and management.

Basic Qualifications: 
•     A Master's degree, preferably in public health.
•     At least 5 years of applied SAS programming skills, with experience managing and analyzing longitudinal data.

Preferred Qualifications:
•     A Master's degree in biostatistics or epidemiology.
•     At least 7 plus years of applied SAS programming skills.
•     Skilled at translating concepts into algorithms for creation of analytic variables.
•     Experience with large, longitudinal health studies.
•     Experience developing and implementing macro language programming.
•     A demonstrated aptitude for data operations and the use of programming for data manipulation and investigation.

Other Required Qualifications: 
•     Demonstrated communication skills.
•     Collaboration with teams, managers and/or clients
•     Organization skills, including time management ability
