Our client in the non-profit industry is seeking an Sr. Accounts Payable Specialist to assist their accounting department. The Sr. Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for managing the accounting and financial services for regions which includes processing payment and reimbursement requests. If this sounds like you, we are looking for someone with experience in accounts payable and financial services.

Candidate must be able to:
  • Process payment requests/reimbursements which includes entering vouchers with correct coding and periods
  • Prepares international wires/foreign drafts for payment to vendors, volunteers or staff reimbursements
  • Responds to all vendors accounts payable inquiries
  • Provides support for the annual audit process, including preparing schedules and account reconciliations requested by external auditors
  • Exercises fiscal responsibility in the utilization of all resources
  • Liaise with colleagues in other parts of the world to ensure the best sharing of ideas, expertise, and knowledge

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma, plus three (3) or more years of experience in accounting journal entries, payables processing and reconciliations, and/or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training required
  • Completion of college courses in accounting is preferred
  • Proficiency in Excel and all other Microsoft Office applications
  • Must have strong organizational and analytical skills; ability to work in a fast-paced accounting department with the expectation of high productivity and while managing multiple priorities
  • Demonstrated experience and proven ability to interact with multiple internal and external constituencies and maintain confidentiality
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills. Must have technical knowledge of integrated accounting and financial management, reporting and budgeting systems and association management systems
  • A demonstrated interest in advancing education in the not-for-profit sector
  • A strong commitment to contributing to an organizational culture that celebrates diversity and inclusion
  • An understanding and interest in engaging with a broad range of cultures and countries
