Events and Marketing CoordinatorThe George Mason University Office of Advancement and Alumni Relations invites qualified candidates to apply for a part-time Events and Marketing Coordinator. The division is a comprehensive development and alumni relations enterprise with a staff complement of approximately 135 full-time employees.The mission of Alumni Relations is to serve as a conduit between the Alumni Association/alumni community and the university to facilitate strong bonds of mutual loyalty. The Office of Alumni Relations is committed to working collaboratively with partners and stakeholders to provide quality customer service, engagement opportunities, and advocacy through outreach and communication.George Mason University has a strong institutional commitment to the achievement of excellence and diversity among its faculty and staff, and strongly encourages candidates to apply who will enrich Mason's academic and culturally inclusive environment.About the Position:The Events and Marketing Coordinator will assist with event communications, marketing, and social media support. This position will work a maximum of 25 hours per week (Monday- Friday) during normal business hours (8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.), and some evening and weekend hours may be required in conjunction with events. This position can be done virtually, but onsite event support is expected to be in person. Some heavy lifting may be required. Responsibilities:Coordinating event logistics locally and nationally to include: identifying sites, procuring menus, event supplies, etc.;Providing on site event support;Building event registration pages;Building and sending event invitations;Uploading guest lists in Anthology and Patriotforce;Work with regional and affinity chapters to assist with event builds and emails as needed;Work with the Office of Alumni Relations to assist with event emails and registration pages as needed;Work with the Advancement Communications team to schedule deployment of alumni emails;Design graphics for event-related marketing and communications, and alumni social media;Create event calendar updates for Alumni Affinity chapters and regional networks;Assist with in-person and virtual alumni events, including (but not limited to) Homecoming, reunions, Celebration of Distinction, graduation events, etc.; andOther duties as assigned by the AVP of Alumni Relations.Required Qualifications:Strong attention to detail;Ability to multitask and prioritize multiple projects concurrently;Self-starter who is a quick-learner, with the ability to work on their own with minimal guidance;Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication (written and verbal) skills;Demonstrated marketing, communications, and graphic design experience working in both printed and digital mediums, including (but not limited to) website graphics, social media (CANVA, LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram);High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel, and possess strong verbal and written skills;Ability to follow detailed instructions and adhere to all division and university confidentiality protocols; andPresent a portfolio of work.
