Undergraduate Recruitment CoordinatorThe George Mason University Undergraduate Student Services Office, within the College of Engineering and Computing (CEC), seeks a proactive, organized, and self-reliant Undergraduate Recruitment Coordinator. Primary responsibilities of the Undergraduate Student Services Office include the following activities: facilitating student academic action requests; providing retention and other student support services including academic advisors for undeclared and undecided students in CEC; preparing appropriate reports and documents related to program assessment and student retention; providing academic advising leadership for all CEC departments; and marketing undergraduate programs and recruiting high school and transfer students at various events.The Undergraduate Student Services Office is looking for applicants for a newly created position of Undergraduate Recruitment Coordinator who will be primarily responsible for recruitment of undergraduate students to the College of Engineering and Computing (CEC) in coordination with the Office of Admissions. This person is the primary point of contact for prospective students and their families, as well as the College's liaison to the Office of Admissions. The Undergraduate Recruitment Coordinator is responsible for CEC's undergraduate recruitment strategy and coordination with University-level recruitment activities and initiatives. The College has experienced tremendous growth in our undergraduate student population growing from 5,400 in Fall 2017 to 7,300 in Fall 2022. This position will help to continue to support the College with additional growth in the future.Responsibilities:Serve as primary point of contact within the College of Engineering and Computing for prospective undergraduate students and families to include:Respond to all inquiries in a timely manner whether by email, phone, or through other communication systems;Accommodate visit and meeting requests from prospective students and families either personally or by coordinating with other CEC faculty, staff, and/or students; andKeep informed and up to date with undergraduate programs being offered within the college.Coordinate the College of Engineering and Computing's participation in undergraduate recruitment activities and initiatives of the University's Office of Admissions to include:Represent CEC on the University's Recruitment Action Council;Ensure full participation by CEC in all appropriate Admissions activities;Manage and lead recruitment events both in-person and virtual instances; andRepresent CEC undergraduate programs at college fairs and other recruitment events.In conjunction with the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs, the College's Communications staff, and the University's Enrollment Management group, develop and coordinate strategy for recruitment and marketing of undergraduate programs to include:Assist with development of recruitment strategy and conduct annual reviews and updates;Assist with development of recruitment marketing plan and lead implementation for the office;Develop and maintain a comprehensive recruitment calendar for the office; andDevelop and maintain recruitment materials to be given to prospective students.Monitor, report, and advise on management of new undergraduate student enrollment to include:Review undergraduate Admissions data for upcoming semesters on approximately a weekly basis;Report on new undergraduate student enrollment to stakeholders (Associate Dean, College and School administration, academic departments) monthly, or more frequently as appropriate during critical times;Document and present trends or unusual variation in performance; andRecommend strategy to remediate or capitalize on performance.Required Qualifications:Demonstrated knowledge of process and strategy development;Skill in providing effective customer service;Skill in effective and respectful verbal, written, and interpersonal communication;Ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse groups of individuals;Ability to demonstrate significant attention to detail and perform work with a high degree of accuracy;Ability to multi-task and prioritize daily activities;Ability to remain organized while working on multiple, simultaneous projects;Ability to work effectively with others, both in the department and to external colleagues;Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment;Experience participating in recruitment events, including managing or administering recruitment-related events and workflow;Experience working in a dynamic environment, navigating phone calls, emails, and in-person/virtual interaction; andWork some evenings and weekend hours.Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Computing/Engineering, or a related field;Knowledge of computing and engineering fields;Knowledge of undergraduate student recruitment practices;Knowledge of higher education student information systems and business intelligence systems; andThree or more years progressive experience in higher education and/or marketing, ideally in undergraduate student recruitment.Mason Engineering: The Future of Engineering is HereThe College of Engineering and Computing at George Mason University is comprised of the Volgenau School of Engineering and the School of Computing.
